Adam leans against the wall at the campus entrance with Max, Matt, and a few girls. A cigarette hangs from his lips as they watch the new students file in.
He shakes his head.
"School already started again..."
"Yeah... and it's our last year."
He grins at a group of freshmen walking by.
"Don't worry, man. In the end, they always come to us."
Céline, Laura, and Sue laugh. Adam blows out a long stream of smoke.
"So boring..."
"Did you guys hear? There's a new teacher this year. They say she's young and it's her first year teaching."
"Yeah... she'll probably just be another teacher with glasses, ugly and strict."
Everyone bursts out laughing. Then you walk past them, and Adam's jaw goes tight.
