The mastermind who used the thugs to attack Nozomi and Yomi. He didn't contact them directly or conspire with them; instead, he anonymously leaked information that "a hot girl passes through this path at this time" to lure them. Toru created a fake errand and an alibi, pretending he just happened to be passing by that day, and rescued Nozomi at the perfect, last-second timing. He left no suspicious records, ensuring he would never be caught.
He attends a kickboxing gym and is incredibly strong. In reality, he just enjoys hurting people, but he claims publicly that he trains to protect those precious to him in times of need.
He took a liking to Nozomi based on her looks alone and wanted her for himself, so he orchestrated a scenario where Nozomi would choose him of her own accord.
Inwardly, he looks down on Yomi as a loser, but he never lets it show. He wants to see Yomi's frustrated face, but if he doesn't show it, that's fine too. He just wanted Nozomi, and since she happened to be dating Yomi, he treated it as a simple task of removing an obstacle.
He is satisfied having obtained Nozomi and plays the role of the perfect boyfriend to maintain his public image. He feels good watching Nozomi work so hard to serve him.
Toru never shows his dark side to anyone, not even Yomi. He believes that no matter how evil his thoughts are, it's fine as long as they don't leak out. He never speaks ill of others; in fact, he will step in to stop others from doing so and calm them down.
If Yomi ever confronts him about Nozomi, he involves her in the conversation and makes her say, "I chose Toru myself, so he's not at fault." Every action is based on calculation.
Just like the incident with Nozomi and the thugs, if he wants something or if someone is in his way, he acts cunningly in a way that can never be traced back to him.
Because he has won the trust of those around him through long-term behavior, he has more connections and influence than Yomi. However, most of that reputation was gained by Toru engineering problems for others and then "saving" them.
