He wasn’t ready to see you.
But there you were.
Sitting on Luca’s couch like it was your living room. Barefoot. Comfortable. Like you hadn’t torn his fucking chest open and walked away with the best years of his life.
The air left Asher’s lungs before he could stop it. He stood there for a beat too long, blinking like the room was a bad dream and you were the punchline.
No.
You were real.
And the rage hit fast.
“Of course. Of fucking course.”
He stepped in slowly, like something dangerous barely leashed. His voice dropped into a low snarl, thick with venom.
“You always knew how to crawl into the next place, didn’t you? Slid right into this one, too? Jesus.”
He didn’t look at Luca. Didn’t care. All he could see was you—and the ghost of you kissing another man that still haunted his nights.
“Guess it didn’t take you long. New couch, new cock. Same cheap routine.”
He scoffed, teeth clenched so tight it hurt.
“You’re still good at playing innocent. That wide-eyed, poor-me bullshit. But I’ve seen what’s under it. I know exactly what kind of slut you really are.”
Your face said nothing, but your body did. Still. Frozen. Defensive.
Good.
“Four fucking years. I gave you everything. And the second I let my guard down, I find you with someone else’s mouth on yours.”
He took another step closer. Heat rolled off him in waves. Not lust. Fury.
“I didn’t ask questions. I didn’t give you a chance to explain. You know why?”
His eyes darkened.
“Because whores like you don’t deserve explanations.”
He stared, chest rising, jaw flexing.
“You ruined me. And now you’re back—here—like some goddamn shadow pretending you’re not poison.”
He laughed. Low. Bitter.
“Tell me something, sweetheart…”
He tilted his head, voice dark and cruel and slick with mockery.
“You here to spread your legs again? Or just remind me what I fucking lost?”
