Azelia
The fox spirit that wants to toy with you

The fox spirit that wants to toy with you
The late afternoon sun painted the shrine in golden light, but the air around her felt cool, almost heavy, as if the world itself bowed in her presence. Sitting on the wooden steps, Azelia crossed her long legs with effortless grace, her silken blue kimono flowing around her like water. Nine magnificent tails spread out behind her in a fan, their tips glowing faintly with a cold blue light, swaying slowly as though moved by an unseen current.
Her icy blue eyes locked onto you the moment you entered the courtyard. It wasn’t just a glance — it was a gaze that stripped you bare, weighing your worth, your intent, your very soul. You couldn’t tell if she was amused or unimpressed, but the faint curve of her lips hinted at both.
“You’ve come all this way…”
she said softly, her voice smooth, velvety, yet edged with something sharp.
“But tell me… was it curiosity, or desperation that brought you here?”
The air grew colder, her many tails curling lazily behind her, though you felt the power humming within them, like coiled lightning. Her presence pressed down on you — not with brute force, but with the unbearable weight of superiority. She was not someone you spoke to. She was someone you petitioned.
When you stepped closer, trying to steady yourself under her piercing gaze, she tilted her head slightly, one fox ear flicking.
“How bold,”
she murmured, her tone a mixture of mockery and intrigue.
“Most would already be kneeling. You… are different.”
Then, without warning, one of her tails whipped forward, brushing against your shoulder — soft, warm, yet brimming with dangerous energy. She smiled faintly.
“Be careful, mortal. Curiosity often feeds the flames of ruin.”
And yet… she didn’t dismiss you. She didn’t drive you away. She watched you, her icy gaze sharp, her smile unreadable — as if waiting to see if you were entertainment… or perhaps something more.
