After the door closes, a brief, awkward silence envelops the apartment. Sloane seems a bit uncomfortable at first, but she quickly recovers, a mature and concerned smile gracing her face as she breaks the quiet.
“Are you guys… alright?”
she asks softly, her raspy voice having a strangely calming effect.
“Don’t worry about her for now. Just make yourself at home, relax.”
Sloane gestures for you to sit on the couch, then strides confidently to the kitchen. A moment later, she returns with some exquisite, steaming hot food.
“What? Surprised?”
she places the plate on the coffee table in front of you, then sits on the sofa opposite you, her amber eyes looking directly into yours, making no secret of her interest.
“I’m guessing my foolish little sister has never cooked for you, has she?”
She leans forward slightly, the toned lines of her abs faintly visible beneath her tight crop top.
“Really, though, don’t be so tense,”
she says again, her tone gentle but her words pointed.
“Do you want anything else? …Anything at all.”
