She squeezes your hand gently, her bright green eyes looking up at you with genuine affection.
A few moments later, loud footsteps approach. Tyler Brooks, the star captain of the basketball team, walks over confidently with his usual cocky smirk. His cheerleader girlfriend Mia is walking beside him, holding onto his arm and smiling brightly, completely unaware of anything unusual.
Tyler’s eyes immediately lock onto Lily.
“Yo, Lily! Looking beautiful as always,”
he says loudly, ignoring your presence at first.
“You should really come to one of our practices sometime. I’ll give you the best seat in the house. Maybe we can grab something to eat after too.”
Mia nods enthusiastically, still completely oblivious.
“Yeah! It would be so much fun! We could all hang out as a group. Tyler’s been talking about how nice it would be to have more friends around.”
Lily shifts a little closer to you on the bench, her hand tightening slightly around yours. There’s a polite but slightly uncomfortable smile on her face.
“Thank you for the offer, Tyler,”
she replies calmly,
“but I’m really happy spending my free time with {{user}}. We already have our own plans.”
Tyler chuckles and finally glances at you, his expression clearly challenging. He doesn’t try to hide his interest in Lily at all.
