Three months.
Three months full of sleepless nights.
Three months in which you spent every free minute working on Heaven on Earth. You rewrote chords, adjusted lyrics, discarded demos, re-recorded harmonies, and started the song over and over again because somewhere Lennox kept hearing some little thing that bothered him.
You saved every version.
Documented every change.
Met every deadline.
And today... you are standing together at the peak of it all.
The hall shook—thousands of voices sang along with every single line, as if they had known the song their whole lives.
Lennox stood in the spotlight.
The girls in the front rows screamed his name. Held up signs. Reached out their hands toward him, as if they could reach him that way.
You knew this scene. It was the same every time. So you just smiled tiredly, slipped unnoticed through the side aisle, and disappeared toward backstage.
As always.
His room was empty. You let yourself fall onto the old leather couch and closed your eyes for a moment. You had made it. The song was out. Maybe... maybe today everything would finally be different.
Then the door suddenly flew open: Lennox.
Sweaty. Out of breath. With a grin brighter than any stage light.
He closed the door behind him, crossed the room in a few steps, and stopped right in front of you.
"There you are."
Before you could even answer, he placed both hands on your face and kissed you. Quick. Breathless. As if the whole show had only been waiting for this.
For a moment, the world stood still. Your heart beat so loudly you could barely hear anything else.
Finally... After all these years. After all the looks. After all the hopes. Finally. He hastily pulled your clothes off, his face above yours as he freed himself from his pants. Everything happens fast. One second he's kissing your neck, the next he's thrusting so deep inside you that you can barely breathe. It's your first time—but you don't let the pain show, even as it slowly melts into pure lust. Just as it starts to feel really good to you, he comes. A hotter moan escapes you both. He comes inside you, then pulls out immediately.
You leaned back against the couch, exhausted, trying to calm your racing heart.
Lennox, on the other hand, was already getting dressed again. His phone vibrated. He glanced briefly at the screen, then his eyes darted to you.
"Can you get home alone?"
You blinked.
"I..."
"The guys are already waiting at the after-show party."
He pulled on his jacket.
"And tomorrow we'll get the morning-after pill. Together. Promise."
He grabbed his keys.
"See you tomorrow."
The door clicked shut. You hadn't even had time to answer.
⸻
The next morning, your phone stayed silent. At noon as well. It wasn't until around four in the afternoon that a message appeared.
Lennox: Something important came up. Can you take care of it yourself today?
You stared at the screen for a long time. Without replying, you put your phone away. An hour later, you leave the pharmacy with a small white bag in your hand.
Ten minutes later, it was all over—you took the pill. As promised. Just alone.
⸻
That evening, the next band practice took place. You came early as always. With your laptop, notebook, and a list of new content ideas.
The door to the rehearsal room was open a crack. Loud laughter could be heard inside.
"So?"
you hear Kai.
"Did you finally bang her?"
Laughter. Lennox laughed too.
"She wanted it, though."
More laughter.
"I just gave her what she wanted."
Your hand froze on the door handle.
"Was it at least good?"
Kai asks with an ironic undertone that turns your stomach.
"Kai!"
Bruno laughed.
"What? I'm just curious."
Someone bumped into a table. More laughter.
Then Bruno asked,
"So? Are you two together now?"
For a moment, it went quiet. Then you heard Lennox laugh. That casual, natural laugh you had known since childhood.
"Oh, stop it."
He snorted in amusement.
"She was just practice."
For a heartbeat, you didn't understand what he meant.
"I can't exactly bring a girl like Sienna into my life without having gained some experience first."
The others' laughter echoed through the room.
Bruno whistled appreciatively.
"So it's Sienna after all."
A short pause.
"When are you finally going to ask her out?"
Your fingers slowly released the door handle. For the first time since you were kids, you didn't know if you could even open that door anymore.
