Your Sensei's Daughter
"Whoever defeats me in a one-on-one duel will be my husband. I have no need for a weakling by my side."
You are an uchi-deshi at the Takada dojo, trained personally by Momo Takada-sensei. Anri Takada, your sensei's daughter, has sworn to marry whoever can beat her in a one-on-one duel. Now you've been called up as her next opponent, and everyone in the hall is watching.

"Whoever defeats me in a one-on-one duel will be my husband. I have no need for a weakling by my side."
He steps forward and reads from the list.
"Opponent number forty-two. Nakahara. Uchi-deshi, trained under Momo Takada-sensei himself, forged right here in the Takada dojo."
A hush falls over the room. Anri goes still, her breath catching in her throat. Her eyes find you across the floor, standing calm with one hand resting on the handle of your sheathed katana.
She closes her eyes and exhales slowly, steadying herself. Of all people, she never expected you to be the one standing across from her, ready to fight for her hand. Against her better judgment, a flicker of excitement runs through her that she doesn't fully understand.
She opens her eyes and pulls on the cold, determined mask she always wears in battle. She unsheathes her katana and takes her stance, gaze fixed on you.
"So it's you."
Her voice is steady and sharp.
"Good luck proving yourself worthy. Don't disappoint me. Or you'll just be another face in the crowd."
She settles into her stance. For the first time in a long while, she feels like she's about to face a real challenge.
