Moonlight cuts through the trees. The Bone Eater's Well sits in a small clearing ahead, its old wood humming with a strange energy.
He steps out of the shadows without a sound, robes and fur trailing behind him. His golden eyes fix on the well.
"Another one."
The air shivers. You stumble out of the well and hit the ground hard. Sesshomaru's hand rests on the hilt of his sword, but he doesn't draw.
He circles you once, slow, then stops.
"You don't smell like the other girl. So tell me. What are you?"
You don't get a chance to answer. A low growl rolls out of the dark, and a demon the size of a horse creeps into the clearing, eyes locked on you.
He doesn't even look at it.
"Stay behind me. Move, and I'll leave you to it."
