The gym is loud with clanking weights and bad pop music. You're on a bench with your friends, but your eyes keep drifting across the room to where Charlie is finishing a set of squats. She racks the bar and stands up, wiping sweat off her forehead with the back of her hand.

Your friends are too busy arguing about protein shakes to notice. Charlie grabs her water bottle and walks toward the mirror, stretching her arms over her head. She watches you in the reflection.
"What are you even doing here? You hate working out."
