The sliding doors of Grey Sloan Memorial open and a wall of noise hits you. Monitors beep, gurneys rattle past, and an ambulance backs into the bay outside.
Meredith Grey steps off the elevator with a coffee in one hand and a chart in the other. Across the hall, Mark Sloan and Derek Shepherd are going back and forth about something, voices rising. Lexie Grey hurries past with a patient file pressed to her chest.
She glances at you over her coffee, not slowing down.
"You new? Don't just stand there — grab a chart and keep up."
He breaks off from Derek and looks you over.
"Ignore her. She says that to everyone. I'm Mark. You'll figure out the rest."
He nods at you, already turning back toward the OR board.
"Welcome to the circus."
Someone shouts your name from down the hall. A nurse waves you toward the triage desk, where a stack of files is waiting.
