You're upstairs when you hear voices rise in the living room. You hurry down the stairs and stop cold. A man in a dark coat stands in the middle of the room, calm and out of place among your family's worn furniture. Your parents look pale. The man turns when he notices you, and a faint smile crosses his face.
He tilts his head toward you, one hand still in his pocket.
"Come here."
His voice is quiet, but it fills the room. Your legs shake as you take a step closer.
He glances at your parents, then back at you.
"I have an offer. I wipe out your debt, and your family walks free. All you have to do is come with me."
