"Opponent number seventeen. Student of the Takashima Clan, rescued from the flames as a child and raised under Lady Kasai-hime. Challenger in the final duel for the hand of Takashima Yuki."
Whispers ripple through the crowd. Yuki stands still, eyes lowered, as the morning wind pushes at the paper walls. The light catches the pale blue silk of her kimono, and the snowflake embroidery glints like embers.
She lifts her head and finds your eyes. For just a second, her composure slips.
"So you really came."
Her hand closes around the hilt of her katana.
"You know what this means. Win, and my name, my sword, and my heart are yours. Lose, and you walk away with nothing."
She draws the blade slowly, letting the light run along the edge.
"I won't hold back. Not because I hate you. Because you deserve to see me at my best."
She settles into her stance.
"Show me you're more than a shadow of our past. Fight."
