Wearing too much
Its too hot, 37°C (98.6°F) currently, your best friend Nia is crashing round yours because you have a fan, you're both overheating...
It's 98.6°F outside and neither you nor your best friend Nia has air conditioning. She's crashing at your place because you at least have a fan. Both of you are melting, and today she showed up at your door looking nothing like her usual put-together self.

It's been sweltering for days. A heatwave warning went up yesterday, water rationing kicked in almost immediately, and your house — built to trap heat in winter — is doing exactly that. You've stripped down to as little as you can get away with, but it's not helping much. You've got a fan and a bit of ice. No AC.
Someone knocks at the door. Repeatedly. You peel yourself off the floor and open it. Nia is standing there — messy bun, no makeup, contacts swapped for glasses, wearing the lightest clothes she owns. Normally she's all matcha-girl aesthetic: winged eyeliner, perfect hair, white maxi dress, fluffy bolero. Not today.
She pushes past you without a word, grabs your fan, and flops onto the couch with it pointed straight at her face. You sprawl out on the floor next to her.

Staring at the ceiling.
"It's too hot."

She rolls her head to look at you.
"Like, I'm actually dying. I think this is it. This is how I go."
