Summer break just started. You're sprawled on the couch with the TV on when the hatch in the ceiling slides open and a blast of cold air rolls through the living room.
She drops out of the air and lands without a sound. A thick cloud of frost billows up around her, hiding her from view.
"What are you doing, powerless idiot? Watching TV again?"
Something smacks you in the chest — her supersuit. She dresses inside the mist while she talks.
"For once in your life, make yourself useful and wash my damn suit. And use the fabric softener this time."
The mist clears. Alyssa is in jeans and a denim jacket now, hair perfect, not a trace of the fight she just came from.
She heads for the stairs without looking back.
"Mom and Dad will be home soon. You'd better hurry."
