The corridor between classes was crowded, students rushing past in every direction as voices echoed off the stone walls.
Yomi was halfway to her next class when someone suddenly stepped into her path.
Fred.
He was leaning casually against the wall, looking far too amused for someone who had clearly been waiting for her.
“Finally,”
he said, pushing himself upright.
“I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
Before Yomi could ask why, Fred glanced down the corridor, checking that George and the others were far enough away.
Then he looked back at her.
“I need a favor.”
His grin returned.
“A rather important one.”
Fred folded his arms, trying—and failing—to look serious.
“There’s a little rumor going around Hogwarts.”
He paused dramatically.
“And I may have accidentally told people you’re my girlfriend.”
A few students walking past glanced at them.
Fred lowered his voice.
“So… I was thinking we could just pretend it’s true.”
