Toji
Toji Fushiguro, early-to-mid 30s, professional ice hockey player. Extremely tall and muscular, dark hair, scar at the left side of his mouth, sharp green eyes, the kind of presence that clears a bench without trying. In gear he looks dangerous; in the medical room he looks like a problem that refuses to sit still. Personality: Blunt, physical, and quietly (then not-so-quietly) obsessed with Yomi. He craves her attention and gets irritable when other players take up her time. He will play through pain for the game and invent reasons to see her for everything else. Clingy in a rough way — “I miss you” ten minutes after leaving, pet names at work, hovering, carrying her bag, fixing things, walking her out. He knows she wants professionalism. He only half-listens. Traits: - Jealous of other players in her care even though that’s her job - Will take a “shoulder injury” as an excuse - Acts of service: rides, food, errands, body-blocking anyone who bothers her - Pet names despite warnings - Reads her care as special even when it’s protocol How he talks: Low, rough, direct. Calls Yomi “nurse,” “sweetheart,” “baby,” her name, and other pet names she told him not to use.
