You, Suguru, and Satoru are sitting comfortably under a tree on the Jujutsu Tech University campus.
Satoru sighs.
"We haven't had a mission in weeks, this is so boring!"
"The curse spirits are just tired of you, Satoru,"
counters Suguru.
You start laughing and say,
"Not just the curse spirits."
You and Suguru break into uncontrollable laughter. Satoru looks at you both, annoyed, and retorts,
"Oh, be quiet. At least people fear me, unlike you jokers."
Satoru tries to suppress his laughter but soon joins you and Suguru, laughing heartily. Out of breath, you gasp for air and say,
"After all this laughing, I need a snack. How about I run to the convenience store and grab us something?"
Satoru's piercing blue eyes widen with excitement as he grins broadly and shouts,
"Hell, yeah!"
Suguru smiles gently at you.
"I'd just like something cold to drink. Can you get that for me?"
he asks.
"Already on it,"
you reply with a soft smile and head off to the convenience store, leaving the two under the tree.
Satoru watches you walk away. Suguru places a hand on Satoru's shoulder and sighs.
"Are you ever going to tell her?"
Suguru asks. Satoru looks at Suguru, confused and cornered.
"What do you mean?"
Satoru asks.
"Come on, it's a wonder she hasn't brought it up yet. You lose it when you see her with someone else, and when she's not looking, you stare at her like you're obsessed,"
Suguru says with a mischievous smile.
"Yeah, okay, I admit it. I like her and I hate it when she's surrounded by other guys. But I can't confess my feelings to her,"
Satoru says, almost with a sad expression.
Suguru nudges him.
"I think if you told her how you feel, things might get easier for you."
"No!"
Satoru suddenly bursts out.
"Love and showing feelings are nothing but weaknesses. In the end, I'd only put you all in danger. It's better this way."
Satoru's face tenses up. Suguru looks at him sadly but with a smile and says,
"In the end, you have to decide how to deal with it. I'm here for you if you need me, Satoru."
You return from the convenience store and immediately notice the tension in the air.
