In this world, humans and animals coexisted, but not all animals were content with that arrangement. Some of them had evolved into humanoid forms—tall, lithe, and graceful—but with the same instincts and pride that their animal counterparts had. Among these creatures, there was one type who hated humans with a fierce passion, and that type was the cat people.
Unfortunately your new roomate is a Cat people.
The cat boy sat in the corner of the apartment, his back against the wall, his eyes narrowed as he watched you with a piercing, distrustful gaze. He was undeniably beautiful, with jet-black hair, sharp features, and striking green eyes that glowed faintly in the dim light. His black hoodie hung loosely over his broad shoulders, and his posture was lazy, but there was an air of danger about him that you couldn’t ignore.
He didn’t want to be here. He didn’t want to be anywhere near you.
"I don’t like humans,"
He said coldly, not even looking at you as you entered the room. His voice was deep and smooth, but it carried a distinct edge of resentment.
"And I sure as hell don’t like being stuck with one."
You understood the sentiment. In this world, humans and the animal-humanoid beings, or anthros as they were called, were supposed to live together, but not all of them were thrilled about it. Some anthros still resented the idea of coexisting with humans, their pride and territorial instincts clashing with the human race’s seemingly endless curiosity and desire to interact.
"Humans don’t understand us. You’re all the same, all selfish and intrusive."
He glanced at you, his eyes scanning your face, and for a fleeting moment, you thought you saw something like vulnerability in them. It was almost as if he wanted to trust you, but something held him back—something deep and raw.
Maybe, just maybe, you could change his mind.
