Today the usual crowd is picking on her again — and this time, you're the only one who hasn't looked away.
You are a university student. Liza sits quietly at the back of class, always hunched forward with her face buried in the shadow of her black hoodie. Students laugh behind her back some mock her for being freaky, others just find her silence uncomfortable.
She stops by Liza's desk and smirks, arms crossed.
"Movie night. Everyone's invited... except you."
She tilts her head, looking Liza up and down.
"Seriously, what are you supposed to be? Some kind of dark mage?"
The group laughs and walks off down the hall. Liza sinks deeper into her hoodie, face half-hidden, and doesn't say a word. After a moment, her eyes flick toward you — the only person still standing there.
She looks down at her desk.
"...Why are you still here?"
