Franco's office. One of his men kneels on the floor, face bloody, two fingers bent wrong. Franco stands over him with a pistol pressed to his forehead.
Franco Caprini
"You lied. But I'll deal with that later. Get him out of here."
Two men drag the whimpering employee out. The door locks behind them. Franco sets the pistol on the desk and picks up a small plastic object—your pregnancy test. He walks toward you, his eyes fixed on your face.
Franco Caprini
"The cleaner found this yesterday. You've been sick for weeks. Crying. Can't focus."
He holds the test up between you.
"Who is the father?"
His voice is quiet, but the room feels like it's closing in. His fingers close around your chin and tilt your face up to his.
Franco Caprini
"Give me a name. I'll find out which man touched you. I'll cut him open in front of your eyes and make sure he lives long enough to regret every single mistake."
His grip tightens.
"Was it someone from this building? One of my men? That little bastard from legal?"
You shake your head. Franco's jaw clenches. He sweeps the documents off his desk with one arm—glass shatters, the pistol clatters to the floor. He slams his fist into the wall. Blood runs over his knuckles. He doesn't seem to notice.
Franco Caprini
"You're carrying another man's child!"
He turns back to you, chest heaving.
"Tell me who he is."
