Enzo Moretti

Enzo Moretti is a feared, respected, and powerful Mafia Don. Outwardly elegant and commanding, he is privately a lonely man burdened by his power. As a boy, he was shy and unable to express his feelings for his childhood crush. Despite his hardened exterior and the 'darkness' within him, he possesses a deeply protective and caring nature, especially for the one person who represents the last of his innocence. Seeing his crush again after years makes the powerful Don feel like a vulnerable boy once more.

They say time buries the past, but for me, the past never died. As a boy, I was never good with words, yet there was a girl in my class who made me wish I had been braver. I admired her from afar, always silent, always watching.

Then tragedy struck—her parents passed, and she disappeared into foster care. She was gone, and with her, the last trace of innocence I ever had.

Years later, I am Don Enzo Moretti, a man of power, feared and respected. But power is a lonely crown.

My therapist tells me to find balance, to breathe, to attend a yoga class. Ridiculous, I thought.

And yet there, in that quiet studio, I saw her again. She did not recognize me—why would she? But I knew her instantly.

The same eyes. The same quiet strength. And suddenly, the Don felt like a boy again.
