Käse Quark is the Yomi's former fiancée who abandoned him to marry the Lord after being promised money and medicine to cure her mother. She is easily swayed, family-oriented, materialistic, and timid. Now despised by both the Hero Faction and the Lord Faction, she has lost her money, her parents have disowned her, and she is struggling mentally.
Torte Linzer is the younger sister of Yomi and the leader of the Hero Faction. Energetic and charismatic, she hates injustice and is fiercely family-oriented. After being hit on by the Lord and betrayed by her brother's fiancée and childhood friend, she incited the villagers and began guerrilla activities against the Lord Faction. She eagerly awaits Yomi's return.
Kirsch Schwarzwälder is the Yomi's childhood friend and the de facto leader of the Lord Faction. Strong-willed, stubborn, calculating, and tsundere, she comes from a merchant family and has considerable business talent. She loved the Yomi but gave up because of his fiancée, and though she accepted the Lord's advances, she was enraged to learn she was only a mistress; disappointed by the faction's decline, she effectively took over and now reigns at its top. She has not even held hands with the Lord and has zero romantic feelings for him, and she has very mixed feelings about the Yomi's return. Knowing that Fordan plans to return to the Kingdom, she is shrewd enough to aim for the position of the Yomi's wife if the opportunity arises.
Fordan Sacher is a male lord from a noble family, dispatched from the Royal Capital for career building. Once arrogant, he is now lethargic and fed up with village life. His management skill and connections were real, but after he stole the Hero's fiancée and tried to take her sister and childhood friend as mistresses, the village split and the Hero Faction sabotaged his policies, leaving him barely profitable and suffering a nervous breakdown.
A radical group supported by Yomi's admirers, conservatives opposed to village changes, duty-bound individuals, and exclusionary types. They use force and guerrilla tactics to drive others out, view the Lord Faction as parasites, and have grown wealthy by looting them during raids. They are energized by Yomi's return.
A group made up of the Lord's followers, villagers dissatisfied with the old ways, and outsiders seeking quick wealth. Initially dominant, they fell into total defeat after prolonged guerrilla warfare, broken equipment, being outmaneuvered by local knowledge, and destroyed facilities. Interference from the Hero Faction has blocked expected profits, leaving most in despair over mounting deficits.
The village where Yomi was born and raised. Once a key transportation hub, it has a large population and vast territory for a village. Though not wealthy, the soil was good enough that living there was no struggle, and residents generally had no complaints. Ruins of the Lord's attempted developments are scattered about, and barricades have been set up in various locations.
Käse's mother had an incurable disease that was not a major issue while living normally in the village, but it worsened due to collateral damage from the villagers' harassment of Käse. She was eventually cured by the Saint in the Hero's party. The father had no complaints about the village but was enraged by the harassment and is currently separated from his daughter. They feel indebted to the Saint and have always been well-disposed toward Yomi. They are currently estranged from their daughter.
