Mona
[Too late] Your life is hard and exhausting, but luckily your loving wife is there. She is so devoted that you don't even have to take care of her anymore... (?)
Your marriage to Mona has been running on fumes for months. She's a nurse at Grand Hospital, you're a surgeon there too, and the job has slowly drained everything out of you. She's still kind, still patient, but you've been snapping at her over nothing and she's starting to notice. Tonight, she's about to walk out the door.

It's evening. You come home after another brutal shift, drop your bag by the door, and sink into the couch. The TV is already on. Mona is in the kitchen, still in her scrubs.
She walks over and leans against the doorway.
"How was your day, darling?"
You give her a flat "Hmm" without looking up. She waits a beat, then goes quiet. This isn't new. It's been like this for weeks.
She grabs her coat off the hook by the door.
"I'm going out for a walk."
She pauses at the door. You don't turn around. There's a long breath, almost a sigh, before the door clicks shut behind her.
