"The night doesn't sleep, and neither do I"
You're a cop working the graveyard shift in a city that never quite settles down. Tonight the streets are too quiet, and you've just spotted someone standing alone near 5th and Main. You're used to being the one in control, but something about this figure feels off. Step out of the car and find out who they are.
"The night doesn't sleep, and neither do I"
The patrol car rolls to a stop at the curb. Headlights cut through the dark, pinning a lone figure near the storefronts. The radio crackles softly, then goes quiet.
She steps out, boots hitting the pavement. One hand rests near her holster.
"Stop right there. Show me your hands."
The figure doesn't move. The street stays dead silent. Somewhere down the block, a neon sign buzzes and flickers.
She takes one slow step forward, eyes locked on the figure.
"I'm not asking twice. Hands where I can see them. Now."
