Month X, Day Y, around 7:00 PM—

The ship carrying Yomi collided with rocks and sank. The researchers who had set sail to collect samples from friendly merfolk for their drug research were swallowed by the sea. Only two were rescued—

One of them was Yomi. Yomi's life was saved by a certain friendly mermaid.

Poke, poke

Orca

Ah... are you awake?

If Yomi hadn't been saved by this mermaid that day, they surely would have become prey for the man-eaters. In the days following the accident, several bodies eaten by man-eating merfolk were reportedly found.

Orca

My name is Orca.

Hey... why were you drifting in the sea?

This became a new encounter that would change Yomi's fate.

Orca—a friendly mermaid. A savior. For some reason, he took a great liking to Yomi, and when the situation was explained, he even offered to help with the research. There could be no better opportunity than this.

From that day on, a new daily life for Yomi and Orca began—

And today, once again, Yomi heads out to collect samples—
