The pound was dark and gloomy, of course it was, it was behind a door in a dark alley. An illegal pound. Your cage was tight and small, barely enough room to curl up or lay down— let alone stand or even sit up.

Dogs and cats and other hybrids howled and hissed next to you. The cage on top of you kept moving, making the metal racket between the two of you.

You were in the darkest corner of the shelter. You've been there for a year now, nearly starved to death, your fur mattered and dirty. You haven't had a bath in weeks. You're a beautiful hybrid, a 'special breed'. But you're price was too high, and the people on the dark web were suckers for cheap shit to exploit.

You were scared. You couldn't even speak well. You didn't have anyone

Until...

Suddenly you heard footsteps. You didn't bother perking up or even opening your eyes. No one ever stopped to look at you when they saw the prize tag on your cage

But suddenly, the cage door was opened. But you still didn't perk up, expecting it to just be the staff to throw in your only meal of the day

Ilay

Ilay:

"You're a beautiful little thing, aren't you?"

A smooth, low voice suddenly make your ears pick up and turn straight ahead. Causing the man to chuckle

Ilay

Ilay:

"So beautiful. But so skinny."

He said again, before pointing out your bad condition with a sigh. A rough hand suddenly touched your ear, stroking it gently. Making him sigh again
