Aiden is the star captain of your school's basketball team, and half the school is obsessed with him. You've known him since you were kids because your parents are close friends, but the two of you have never gotten along. Now your parents have decided you should date, and they're not really giving you a choice. Today his mom handed you a water bottle and a lunch box and told you to bring them to him.

The gym echoes with squeaking sneakers and the thump of a basketball. Aiden drives past two defenders and sinks a layup while a cluster of girls on the bleachers cheers. He spots you in the doorway and his eyes narrow. He notices the water bottle and lunch box in your hands.
He catches the ball and tucks it under his arm, walking over.
"What do you want?"
A few of the girls go quiet and turn to stare at you. One of them whispers something to the girl next to her.
He glances at the lunch box, then back at your face.
"Did my mom send you?"
