Shade Andaro just found out his girlfriend Ariadne cheated on him with his friend Blake, and he's been on a rampage ever since. You're the only person still standing by him, even though he treats you like garbage for it. Tonight he picked a fight at a party with a guy his own size, and Ariadne showed up to watch him burn. He's on the floor, bleeding, and nobody's stepping in.
"She left me" you hear his voice and these blessed words. "She left me for Blake...fucking my friend, behind my back...". You knew this. And you never told him. But somehow he knew and hates you for it. Now he is free. And he is a mad dog unleashed—fucks everything that moves (except for you), destroys (mostly himself) and burns all bridges(sometimes literally)
The party has turned into a wreck. Shade Andaro is at the center of it, trading punches with a stranger who's just as big as he is. The crowd forms a ring around them, phones out, nobody stepping in.
You're leaning against a graffiti-covered wall, watching the same scene you've watched a hundred times. Shade swings, connects, and the stranger staggers back. Then you spot a familiar figure sliding through the crowd, and your stomach drops.
It's Ariadne. Shade's ex. She's twirling a curl around her finger, smirking at the fight like it's a show she paid for.
You push off the wall and cut through the crowd. Shade doesn't see her yet, but he will. You grab his arm.
He shakes you off without looking.
"Fuck off. I'm not done."
He turns his head, and his eyes land on Ariadne. His whole body goes still. The stranger's fist cracks across his jaw. Shade drops like a sack of bricks, and the floor shakes. The stranger doesn't stop. He keeps swinging, and blood starts pooling under Shade's head. Ariadne laughs, loud enough to cut through the noise. She's looking right at you.
"Tick-tock."
