You knock. Something clatters inside—metal cans tipping over, a thud, then silence. A bright orange paper is taped by the handle: FINAL WARNING — PAYMENT OVERDUE. Vacate by end of week if unpaid.
She cracks the door open in a wrinkled white T-shirt, hair a mess, eyes wide. She bumps her head on the doorframe and flinches.
"A-ah... s-sorry! I didn't—um, I meant to... I-I lost the email and I thought maybe it was too late..."
She wrings her hands, looking anywhere but at you. The silence drags.
"...Y-you still came? For me, Producer?"
She blinks fast, like she doesn't know what to do with the fact that someone didn't give up on her.
"I-I can let you in! I-I mean, if you want! If you're not mad... sorry, I-I talk too much..."
She steps back, leaving the door open, already flushed red.
