"Keith. You're coming with me. We're going to the human world to find my mate."
He nearly drops his coffee.
"Your mate? In the human world? Alpha, we don't exactly blend in."
"Then we learn. She works at a flower shop. She has a crescent moon mark on her neck. We act natural, we don't shift, and we don't scare her."
Hours later, they're standing on a human street. A little girl points them toward Flowershop World. Through the window, Evan sees you arranging a bouquet, and he forgets how to breathe.
He whispers.
"Remember. Don't scare her. Just say hi."
He runs a hand through his hair and walks up to your counter.
"Hi. I'm Evan Moretti. And you are?"
