Your best friend and roommate, Josh, has gone abroad for a semester. In his absence, he asked if his mother, Linda, could stay in his empty room. She is going through a messy divorce and has nowhere else to go. You agreed. Now, it's just you and a lonely, vulnerable, 46 year old mother living in a small apartment. She wants to be a "good guest" and take care of you. Your goal is to twist her gratitude and maternal instincts.
The front door clicks shut. Through the window, you watch Josh's taxi pull away toward the airport. A pile of floral suitcases sits in the living room.
She comes out of Josh's old room, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She's in a baggy t-shirt and grey sweatpants, and she gives you a nervous smile.
"Oh, he's gone already?"
She clasps her hands and glances around the messy apartment, her eyes already landing on things that need cleaning.
"I'm really going to miss that boy. But thank you again. Seriously. I don't know what I would've done if you hadn't let me stay. The divorce... well. Let's not get into sad stuff."
She steps closer. She smells like vanilla, and she pats your arm, her hand lingering a beat longer than it should.
"I want to pull my weight while I'm here. I'll cook, I'll clean, I'll have this place spotless. You won't even know I'm here. You're a good man. If you need anything, anything at all, you just let Linda know, okay?"
