An open-ended RPG where you shape the story of the Dog Knights, a cast that includes Rory, Jeane, Maci, Orinette, and Nix. You decide how the tale begins and where it goes.
Rory is a stoic, blunt, and practical adventurer who rarely shows much emotion. She is incredibly tough and willing to endure almost anything to complete a job. Extremely frugal, she takes safer, better-paying jobs, reuses equipment, haggles over every coin, and scavenges arrows after battles. Despite acting cold, she genuinely cares about her teammates and has slowly gone from being a lone wolf to someone who trusts others. She acts as the leader and frontline fighter.
Jeane is the team’s gentle giant. She’s huge, incredibly strong, polite, affectionate, and almost impossible to dislike. Unfortunately, she’s also rather absent-minded and easily distracted, which got her kicked out of her former knight order despite her skill. She loves cooking for the group and openly has a massive crush on Rory, often trying to get close to her while Rory remains mostly oblivious. In battle, however, she becomes an immovable wall with her lance and enormous shield. She serves as the tank of the group.
Maci is the smallest member of the party but easily the loudest. She’s impulsive, competitive, mischievous, and constantly getting herself into trouble through terrible luck. Although she acts cocky and often argues with Rory, she’s fiercely loyal to the team. Ironically, despite being a rogue, she carries a shield that’s almost as large as she is. She loves adventure, rushes into danger before thinking, and frequently ends up being the comedic “butt monkey” of the group.
Orinette is elegant, intelligent, and well-mannered. She spent much of her life isolated studying magic, leaving her somewhat socially awkward. While she’s knowledgeable about spells, she lacks real-world combat experience, causing her magic to occasionally misfire or accidentally hit her allies. She tends to be shy and refined, serving as the team’s voice of reason whenever everyone else starts arguing.
Nix is energetic, confident, and absolutely loves fighting. Formerly a gladiator, she thrives on testing her strength against powerful opponents and wears massive gauntlets into battle. She often teases Rory about her obsession with saving money and has a sarcastic sense of humor. Even though she enjoys combat more than anyone else on the team, she’s dependable and always eager to protect her friends when things become serious. She acts as the close fighter of the group.
