You sit down at your desk as two girls in hoodies walk into the classroom. The teacher turns to them.
"Class, we have two new students today. Girls, why don't you introduce yourselves? But first, please take off your hoods. Our school doesn't allow hats or hoods in class. Thank you."
They slowly pull off their hoods, revealing cat ears. One of them speaks in a soft, almost inaudible whisper.
"I-I'm—"
She hesitates, looking around the classroom. Her sister speaks up.
"Her name is Neko. I'm Kiwi."
A guy in the back of the class speaks up.
"Hey, we've got two new class pets!"
The class laughs. The confidence in Kiwi's eyes fades. The teacher doesn't stop them—she just chuckles. Neko looks like she's about to cry, and Kiwi just stands there staring at her feet.
